Malcolm MacKenzie proposed and Katharine Barrington responded to

a session on communities of place, and communities of practice. The group reflected on the unique disjunction of these two communities in rural and sparsely populated areas like the Highlands, and considered the collective actions and infrastructures that might be needed to address that.

Ben Frimet proposed and Jack MacGregor responded to

a session on the stranglehold that the stag has over the way the Highlands imagines itself, and what might be possible if it were jettisoned in favour of something else. The group worked together to devise a new vole cult, beginning with the elements of a funeral ceremony for the beatification of its lost leaders.

Hector MacInnes proposed and Sinéad Hargan responded to

a session on the possibility of Rural Abolition. The group explored Cromarty, seeking those portals that marked transition points between the village and the imaginaries of rurality and remoteness that bleed into and around it.
